Picado & Zamora Architects are in Costa Rica and Costa Rica is in TicosLand.com.

Our blog today is brought to you by:

Picado & Zamora Architects have been developing their professional activity in the design and construction field in Costa Rica since 2004. Exercising both disciplines allows us to address various projects from General Planning and Environmental Design to Construction, understanding that everything is an integrated architectural process placed at the user.

Hotels get together to lower prices.

In Costa Rica, six hotel firms decided to unite and lower prices to prevent the financial crisis in the United States from reducing their occupancy rate.

These hotels are Punta Islita, Lapa Rios, Harmony, Arenas del Mar, El Silencio Lodge and Finca Rosa Blanca, which created joint-packages to attract tourists.

The proposal gives tourists the option to alternate their stay between a beach and mountain hotel among any of those already mentioned, for 5 and 8 days depending on the choice.

The decision was taken after the announcement by the Costa Rican Chamber of Hoteliers (CCH by its initials in Spanish) on the reduction in occupancy compared to 2007 at this time.

In turn, these Costa Rican hotels promote environment-friendly tourism, so that the owners want to benefit from this feature to make your offer even more inviting.

In the words of the chairman of the Grupo Islita, Eduardo Villafranca, "Visitors from the United States and Europe are well aware of their impact when they visit a community, which is why they are very sensitive in choosing hotels that do not harm the environment."

The offer is available until Dec. 15 when the tourist low season ends.

As we have already mentioned before, this kind of strategy is what needs to be applied to achieve not only maintaining hotel activity, but also avoiding layoffs and other phenomena which can be generated by the financial crisis. At TicosLand.com, we hope they have positive results, and that more hotels will be encouraged to undertake initiatives such as this.
